Devestating news

Devastating. This post isn't meant as a "debating point" it's just some new numbers that came out that shows a different perspective.

Newsweek and dozens of other outlets are reporting on a new United Nations report that 30 million (or more) people can die from hunger in a span of 3 months due to the economic impacts of covid-19 shutdowns.   You can see 3 basic points in every article.

1: Global food insecurity can double in 2020 to 265 million.

2:  There is a potential of 27 million people dying in a span of 3 months because of the economic impact of covid-19.  These numbers do not include the increase of hunger due to the virus, just the lack of access for those already starving.

3: They admit that more people could die from the economic impact then from the virus it's self.  When they say more they mean 30 million more could die from the economic impact.

Now I take everything I read with a grain of salt and the UN is known for lying in order to raise money.  But the UN is also a major organization that has been telling everyone to shutdown their businesses and to stay home.  Now they tell us they want more money because a potential of 30 million + can die due to the shutdown?

Sad times we live in.  I hope people take serious consideration into what this could mean if this report is accurate.
